ART 479 Interaction Design
Exploration of design issues unique to user-centered interaction in digital media. Explore a range of formal and conceptual issues including user interface, organization, narrative, motion, time, and sound.

ART 340 Digital Imaging I
An introduction to the creative possibilities of high resolution 2D imagery on the computer in an Art context. The course will begin with an introduction to issue of "workflow" in digital photography with programs such as Adobe's Lightroom and Apple's Aperture. Students will then gain fluency in Photoshop, flatbed and film scanning, output to high resolution inkjet printing. Digital imaging, including digital photography, will be strongly related to other art processes.

ANYONE!!!! Do you know if it's possible to add effects to a region in garageband, not having to add a new track. Also a fade. Come on, does Garageband suck THIS MUCH that you can't edit part of the track separately without adding a whole effect onto the WHOLE track...wtf....

Israel is turning 60 years old and what better way to celebrate than with beautiful portraiture of its people. I'm a professional photographer and student at the University of Washington working on a photography show featuring Israeli-borns and/or people who have lived there/have stories about Israel and who are between 59(turning 60 this year)-69 years old. This show will be presented at the University of Washington HUB Gallery and will go on nationally throughout the year. If you would like to participate or know of anyone PLEASE LET ME KNOW! A Face to the Age: Israel at 60

The wrinkles we wear are formed from both years of happiness as well as sadness; the canvas of Israelis in their 60s is distinctly reminiscent of Israel's topography that its people have been cultivating for years.
Turning sixty isn't easy, especially for a country like Israel. Some countries are hundreds of years old but don't even scratch the surface of what Israel means to millions of people. The goal of this exhibit is to give a face to the age of 60 and bring out the most important part of Israel, its people. Let's celebrate the wide array of diversity Israel has and feature the many people represented in this land who live amongst us.

someone insisted that i looked like Goldfrapp yesterday and called me that all night.
it was awesome because i actually know what the band is for once and completely love her music.
i've gotten some weird celeb look-a-likes in my life...proceed for further intrigue...

between wanting to update my jubruk.livejournal.com and here, over there is a more creative space for me at the moment.

anyhow, in terms of life...it's been a crazy quarter.

I made 3 movies, but really it was 9 because i spent way more time helping my friends on their movies than my own anyway. Facebook has some stills and I'm working on figuring out how to put the quicktimes on youtube, although the quality is horrendous and i'd almost rather not.

My photography is doing alright. I did a few photoshoots this quarter that were some of my best work. Also up on facebook. The other day the sun was shining so lovely through the blinds like i always love and i got an urge to snap some photos. i took about 50 of my dad reading the paper, he looked so damn cute, even as he was saying mean things about how i should stop taking photos of him and do something productive, lol. he's full of it and knows he loves it ;)

"Now for the promised taste of some garden organica!"
I lead him outside to not dissapoint him in the original point of his visit, carefully planned, to hand pick all kinds of berries from my garden that I grew all by myself from youngling age. He was intrigued; living in the city most of his life, without a backyard left him lacking in the "farmers life country style" area, even in minute ways. I had coerced him that my backyard could be a great beginning lesson.
"Here, let's start from the raspberries, they're easy."
I found a nice big juicey one. You could tell it was hanging by a fragile thread just waiting to be popped from its womb and thrown to awaiting taste buds.
"Ok, you wrap your thumb and pointer finger around it and slowly, carefully pull. Don't press too hard and be very attentive."
I pulled it slightly and it fell right into the bottom of my palm, just the right size and weight. My mouth watered through my eyes.
"You can never be too careful, they jump right into your hand at any moment of the pull, so watch out."
He laughed, first with his eyes, as he observed my every word and action, then let his mouth slowly crease around the edges finally to let loose an amused chuckle that filled my bones with interest.
"Ok, I think I'm ready to try," he said through his laughter and raised his hand. He brushed it past my hair and was ready to grab the plump raspberry being held captive by its internal roots right next to the one I picked. They were probably close relatives, I thought to myself.
His fingers glided slowly over the dark hairs pertruding from the honeycombs of the raspberry's and with a whisk of his grip, let the juicey piece of sweetness fall to his palm.
"See, I'm a pro!" he exclaimed, with a toddler's grin on his glowing face.
"Guess I underestimated you," I said with a wink. He brought it to his lips.
"No wait!" I grabbed his wrist, softly. He had an intriguing look on his face.
"You have to make a wish before you eat the first one you picked yourself, didn't you know?"
"Really now, hah," he smiled, slyly catching on to my plan.
"Yes, but it has to be a wish that you can make happen yourself, within the next day."
"Day?"
"Or sooner, the sooner the more points you get with the wish gods."
"Wish gods, huh, you must know something I don't then. So why do I have to make it happen myself, can I have help?"
"Any wish you make happen yourself. Maybe with a little bit of luck and fate, but if you don't pursue what you want you'll be left with whatever hits you in the head!" I threw a raspberry at him as he tried to dodge it with a grin, but failed miserably resulting with a slightly red tint on his forehead.
"Well ok, wish gods," he said, looking up at me, "I've got to score as many bonus rounds as possible then."

Who wants to have the most amazing puppy in the entire world, before it's gone very soon?

He has all of his shots, he's almost potty trained, he's very smart- his grandpaw was a show champion. He is the most adorable, playful, lovable thing in the entire world. He is the perfect puppy. Dad is a Cockapoo and mom is a Spaniel.

I would much rather someone who I know is great take him then someone in Oregon or somewhere else when I won't even have the chance of ever seeing him again and won't know what's going on.

TAKE HIM! YOU! PLEASE! don't make this harder than it's becoming and will be after it all blows over.

Life is so weird- you gain and loose things at a flick of the wrist, the touch of a button, the wink of an eye, so appreciate it all in full blast for every second that you have it, for all it's worth.

One day she fell through the roof.
Gravity was reversed somehow and the world was turned inside out.
Now walking through the grass fields was just like soaring through the skies, like she had always day dreamed. She just hoped Lila wasn't flying in the airplane now. Would they all come crashing to the ground? Would they also soar through tall grass fields, but upside down, wings suddenly lost to the pull of gravity and wind, more like boats, and boats would fly?

So today, officially my name is on the Digital Arts Experimental Media BFA program.
I have also decided that double majoring in some type of Biology will not be my thing.
The grade gap between the work I put into everything and the outcome is too ridiculous,
plus resisting the close to 4.0s and pleasure I receive out of anything art is hard to ignore.
My choices instead of bio are pretty much only psychology, although I would really love
to do Visual Communication with a focus on interactivity design. If I had thought of this
idea 2 weeks age, I could have attended the workshop yesterday which determines
who gets into this program, it's so damn competitive. It's also a 3 year program. Yeah right.
I'm already stuck for 3 years from now. I'm proud at least I got into DXArts,
they only take like 20 people a year.

Summer is here and I have no juice. Everything is bare, fragile, stripped. Hidden.
It's strange and clear, clear glass used to scrape it away.
Warm threads touching together in odd ways.
Cold air, cool feet, warm blood, rhythmic dune.
